In this IMG activity, you define number range intervals for all collateral objects. You can use the number range intervals to assign unique semantic identification numbers for collateral objects. You can create any number of number range intervals for collateral objects. However, for each collateral object type, you can assign only one number range interval.

You can then assign the number ranges to the relevant collateral object types in the Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Assign Number Ranges to Collateral Object Types.

Note: Number ranges for collateral object types are valid throughout a client.

You must have defined the collateral object types for which you require to maintain number range details, in the relevant IMG activities.

The standard system provides a number range object CMS_MOV for all collateral objects. The following values have been defined for this number range object:

Sub-object - Object category comprises the categories of all possible collateral objects. It determines that the number ranges are unique for each of the collateral object categories.

Warning limit % - 10 The system alerts the users through a warning message when ninety percent of the numbers in the number range interval have been exhausted.

To create a new number range for collateral objects, you must first select the object category for which you want to maintain number ranges.

  1. Choose Change Intervals.
The Maintain Number Range Intervals screen appears.
  1. Choose Insert Interval. You can make the following settings:
    1. Number : Enter the number of the number range interval, that is, enter the number of your application component.
    2. From number : Enter the lower limit of the interval.
    3. To number : Enter the upper limit of the interval.
    4. External- Set this flag if you want the user to enter the identification numbers for other valuables. If you do not set this flag, identification numbers will be generated internally. The last number assigned is always displayed in the current number field.
  2. Save your number range
