In this IMG activity, you define number range intervals for all device objects. You can use the number range intervals to assign unique semantic identification numbers for device objects. You can create any number of number range intervals for device objects. However, for each device type, you can assign only one number range interval.

Note : You can assign the number range intervals to device types in the Implementation Guide (IMG) activity Assign Number Ranges to Device Types. Number range intervals for device types are valid throughout a client.

You must have defined device types in the IMG activity Define Device Types.
