In this activity you assign conversion routines to your table fields. If you execute this function, you receive the list of tables selected under Search for Fields to be Changed Over in the Dictionary. You can limit the display according to:

  • The developer responsible for creating the table
  • The development class in which the table was created.

Explanation of the colors:

  • Blue: Table/field is not to be changed over
  • Green: Table/field is correctly assigned to a conversion routine
  • Red: Table/field is not yet assigned to a conversion routine

Note
You select all specifications here by double-clicking an entry.

  1. Enter a developer and a development class.
  2. Choose Execute.
  3. You receive a list of tables that contain the fields to be changed over.
The UR indicator specifies whether a table is to be considered for the changeover. Remove this indicator if a table does not participate in the conversion.
  1. Choose a table name.
The table's individual fields are listed with a proposal for the conversion routine.
Remove the UR indicator if a field does not participate in the conversion.
  1. Choose a table field. You reach the list of conversion routines.
Note
If the field to be changed over is a key field, you must also specify
  • Whether the amounts can be totaled for duplicate records; the system can generate a conversion program for this field

  • Whether the amounts may not be totaled for duplicate records; you have to write your own program for this field

  • Whether duplicate reocrds do not occur; the field is treated as a field that is not a key field.

If you specify that the amounts may not be totaled, this field is marked as not relevant for conversion. To change this back, you have to reassign all fields from the table.
  1. Choose
  • CONVERT_CUKEY if the field to be translated contains a currency key

  • CONVERT_SV if the field to be translated contains an amount

  • CONVERT_EXRATE_T if the field to be translated contains an exchange rate

CONVERT_CUKEY:

Function:

The entry in the currency key (such as GBP) is overwritten by a new entry (such as EUR).

Required parameter:

  • None

CONVERT_SV:

Function:

Translates a currency amount to euro at the fixed exchange rate. This exchange rate is determined from the currency key of the amount field to be converted.

Required parameter:

  • Currency key for amount

Case 1:
The currency key for the amount field to be converted is determined using a currency type.

Example:
You want to translate an amount in company code currency.

  1. Choose Currency type.
  2. Choose Company code currency.
  3. Choose the field in which the company code is stored.
  4. Save your entries.

Case 2:
The currency key and the amount field to be converted are in the same table.

  1. Choose Field name.
  2. Choose the field that contains the currency key.
  3. Save your entries.

Case 3:
Only one currency key is used in the table to be converted.

  1. Choose FIXER_WERT.
  2. Enter the currency key to be converted.
  3. Save your entries.

CONVERT_EXRATE_T:

Function:

Exchange rates are translated if their from-currency is a transaction currency and their to-currency is a local currency. The result is an exchange rate from the old transaction currency into the euro.

Required parameters:

  • Currency key of the from-currency (must be in a field of the same table)

  • Currency key of the to-currency (is to be determined in the same way as the currency for translating an amount field)

  1. Choose the field with the from-currency currency key.
  2. Choose how the currency key is to be determined for the to-currency.

Case 1:
The to-currency is assigned to a currency key.

Example:

The example is for the company code currency.

  1. Choose Currency type.
  2. Choose Company code currency.
  3. Choose the field in which the company code is stored.
  4. Choose the exchange rate type that is to be used.
  5. Save your entries.

Case 2:
The to-currency is assigned to a field name in the same table.

  1. Choose Field name.
  2. Choose the field that contains the currency key.
  3. Choose the exchange rate type that is to be used.
  4. Save your entries.

Case 3:
Only one currency key is used in the table to be converted.

  1. Choose FIXER_WERT.
  2. Enter the currency key to be converted.
  3. Save your entries.

You can transport the assignment into another system. To do this, select Transport in the list that displays all tables. Since the assignment of conversion routines to customer-specific table fields is saved with the package, you can only transfer the assignment if the package number is identical in the source and target system.

Once you have processed all fields, you can proceed with the next activity.
