In this activity you find out how long the system will be locked during conversion.

The runtime forecast is controlled using a changeover package. The system creates this runtime forecast package from its active changeover package when starting the runtime forecast.

You use this function to create the runtime forecast package and to start it.

The runtime forecast also takes place in several phases which are partly identical to those within the changeover package:

  1. FILL
  2. GENERATION
  3. TIME: the runtime forecast
  • Starts the generated programs

  • Counts the number of tables and fields to be converted

  • Determines the time which is needed for the FILL, GENERATION, CONVERSION, and RECON phases

  1. READY

You will find the result of the runtime forecast in the log for program EWUTIME. You reach the log using the Monitor Runtime Forecast function.
