In this Customizing activity you define the G/L accounts for cash control.

When cash control is active, a check takes place for each posting to see whether the business transaction to be posted is relevant for cash control. In order for the system to recognize the transaction as cash control-relevant and for it to handle the individual line items as such, the G/L accounts being posted to must be defined as relevant for cash control.

In this activity you specify all accounts that your system should interpret as relevant for cash control. Primarily, these are the corresponding bank and bank clearing accounts, as well as the zero-balance clearing accounts (depending on the concept chosen below) that are derived in document splitting for cash control-relevant zero balance clearings.

Notes on the possible scenarios when using the zero balance clearing accounts in cash control:

  • You define the control objects of cash control (CC) independently of the accounts relevant for cash control and only based on additional account assignments, such as the fund (you do this by, for example, initializing the information of the G/L account in a derivation step of your derivation strategy for control objects). In this case, you only require a zero balance clearing account for all control objects of cash control (CC). You must assign this account in the configuration of document splitting, under Financial Accounting (new) -→ General Ledger Accounting (new) -→ Business Transactions -→ Document Splitting -→ Define Zero Balance Clearing Account and define it as relevant for cash control.
  • If the control objects of CC were defined including the accounts relevant for cash control, the cash control-relevant zero balance clearing accounts must also be differentiated, and derived on the basis of cash control-relevant accounts. This is necessary to be able to map the cash balance for each control object adequately. You can derive the different zero balance clearing accounts using Business Add-In (BAdI) FACC_BALANCE_ACCOUNT at runtime.
Note that the definition of the CC objects including the accounts relevant for cash control is a prerequisite if the cash balances must also be controlled in a foreign currency. For more information about this, see the documentation Tolerance Profiles and Strategy for CC Objects.
