This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used when cost of goods sold (COGS) is posted and is to be split into different accounts. With the SAP standard logic, COGS can only be split based on the unit cost estimate for the sales order item or on the standard cost estimate for the material/plant combination.

This BAdI enables you to use a different basis for the split. For example, you could use a past or future standard cost estimate or the actual cost estimate of the previous year. Or you could use the cost component structure of the auxiliary cost component split (instead of the main cost component split). These are only examples of many possibilities.

It was decided that the current G/L item should be split, either based on the standard logic or through the BAdI FCO_COGS_SPLIT_RELEVANCE.

This BAdI is not active in the standard system.

If this BAdI is activated without any changes, it has no influence on the program.

If you do not have an active implementation, no default coding is executed.

This BAdI is not filter-dependent.

This BAdI cannot be used for more than one implementation.

Implement the BAdI if you want to be able to use a different basis for the COGS split instead of the sales order unit cost estimate of the current sales order item or the current standard cost estimate of the material/plant combination.

The BAdI FCO_COGS_SPLIT_BASIS belongs to the enhancement spot EHS_FCO_COGS_SPLIT.

You want to use the actual cost estimate of the previous year as the basis for splitting COGS.

This BAdI belongs to enhancement spot EHS_FCO_COGS_SPLIT.

If you want to override the standard logic determining whether COGS can be split or not, use the BAdI FCO_COGS_SPLIT_RELEVANCE.
