In this IMG activity, you define an allergen catalog as an input help in the Allergy Documentation application.

For the allergen catalog to be available in the Allergy Documentation application there must be a valid configuration of a basic catalog set based on at least one basic catalog. The purpose of the basic catalog for allergies is the cataloging of allergens sorted by allergen groups. You customer-specifically configure this catalog with content.

In the Allergy Documentation application, the allergens are displayed in the hierarchy structure that is defined in Customizing for the catalogs. To structure the basic catalog, you define allergen groups at the highest hierarchy level, which cannot themselves be selected in the application. An allergen group defined in the catalog is dynamically determined in the application for the allergen selected from the catalog. If the user of the application first selects the allergen group, the selection help for the allergen is restricted to the selected allergen group.

You define the catalog contents beneath the allergen groups. It is also possible to create futher hierarchical groups under the allergen groups. Allergens are unique within the catalog and can only exist once in the hierarchy. For an allergen or group of allergens to be displayed for selection in the Allergy Documentation application, you must set the "Selectable" indicator. This also enables agent groups to be documented as allergens. Note that each catalog item has its own validity period.

In Customizing choose SAP Healthcare - Industry-Specific Component Clinical System → Cross-Application Settings → Basic Catalogs. Read the respective documentation for the various activities under this node.
