Input elements are intended for users in vital sign entry who wish to enter the blood pressure, pulse or temperature in a special input screen - instead of in the vital sign table - and in an intuitively interrelated way. The following input elements are available as standard:

  • Vital sign: Pulse
  • Vital sign: Pulse Short Version
  • Vital sign: Blood Pressure
  • Vital sign: Blood Pressure Short Version
  • Vital sign: Temperature
  • Vital sign: Temperature Short Version

Unlike with the standard variants, the user can use a pushbutton for the corresponding short versions to enter additional information.

In order for the user to be able to work with input elements in vital sign entry, you must assign suitable input elements to the catalog items concerned.

The system only offers input elements in the application if a specifically planned vital sign entry is called or if a presetting is configured.

Measurements are assigned to input elements on an OU-specific basis.

You have configured suitable catalog items in the main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category.

Measurement pairs such as, for example, blood pressure, which should be entered in the application with input elements, require pair definition within the main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category. There you enter the same pair key and the same pair name for both measurements which form the pair. The units must match each other.

Assign the corresponding input element and the corresponding measurement to the desired items from the main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category. Use the input help.

By specifying the measurement for an input element, you determine the input field of the input element to which the catalog item should be assigned. The input element "Vital Signs: Blood Pressure", for example, has two input fields, one for the systolic blood pressure and one for the diastolic blood pressure.

You can specify the sequence for the sort order of the input elements in the application dialog. For each individual item of a measurement pair the number for the sort order must match in the assignment to the input element.

Assign a suitable input element for the temperature with the corresponding measurement to an item of the currently valid main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category. You should also configure the OU in which this element should be used.

For the blood pressure, which usually conssists of the measurement pair "Systolic Blood Pressure" and "Diastolic Blood Pressure", you assign the "Vital Signs: Blood Pressure" input element. The suitable "systolic" or "diastolic" measurement is specified for each individual catalog item of the pair.
