In this IMG activity, you can define standard measurement plans that the user can transfer into a patient’s measurement plan where they can be adapted to the individual requirements of the patient.

A standard measurement plan consists of catalog items, which are defined in the main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category. Depending on which main catalog is valid in the current basic catalog set for the Vital Signs work area, these items are available for insertion into the standard measurement plan. You determine the sequence for the standard measurement plan when assigning catalog items.

A standard measurement plan has a unique ID and a name and is always valid for one institution.

In order to be able to create standard measurement plans you will require a valid main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category, which is assigned to a basic catalog set from the Vital Signs catalog category.

You can transport standard measurement plans by creating corresponding transport requests directly in the management of standard measurement plans. In order to be able to link vital sign measurements and cycles correctly in the destination system, the cycle definitions in the destination system must have the same unique keys as in the source system.

You create a standard measurement plan as follows:

1. Select the institution and the underlying basic catalog set and allocate a unique abbreviation and a name.
2. On the Header Data tab page you can specify, for a standard measurement plan, which organizational units (OUs) this plan is valid for. If you do not specify any OUs the standard measurement plan is valid for all OUs.
3. Select the desired catalog items of the underlying main catalog of the CLIM - Clinical Measurements catalog category, which should be used in the standard measurement plan.
  • On the Item Details tab page, which you can reach by double-clicking on the corresponding item, you can assign the desired standard cycle.
The Assign Cycle function is also available in the function toolbar of the hierarchy display.
The cycle assignment during the creation of the standard measurement plan is optional. If you do not assign a cycle here, the user must later determine a cycle when using the standard measurement plan for vital sign planning.
You can find further information on the configuration and use of standard cycles in customizing under Industry-Specific Component Clinical System → Cross-Application Settings → Cycles in the corresponding chapters.

  • In the function toolbar of the hierarchy display there is a function available for preselecting with the actions Activate Presetting and Deactivate Presetting. Items of standard measurement plans, for which you have set the preselection, are already selected when you use the standard measurement plan in vital sign planning. Set the Preselection indicator for items that are frequently used.

  • You can change the sequence of the items in the standard measurement plan using the arrow keys in the hierarchy display.

The standard measurement plan of your desired OU should be structured as follows:

  • Temperature "2x daily".
  • Systolic blood pressure "3x daily"
  • Diastolic blood pressure "3x daily"
  • Pulse "3x daily"

Select the corresponding item of the main catalog and choose the Assign Item function.

You then assign the correspondingly configured standard cycles to the relevant items.
