In this IMG activity you define background colors for the possible status of surgeries which the system uses for displaying surgeries in surgery scheduling. The status of each surgery can therefore be indicated using the background color of the treatment.

You can set different colors for the status for set time stamps and also the status for the process. Note that you can choose from the available statusses, which one you wish to color.

In this IMG activity you first define whether the status of a main or secondary surgery is concerned. You can then enter several statusses for this category.

For main surgeries, for examle, the following statusses are available:

  • Planned
The surgery is planned and has not yet been started. The time of the surgery is still in the future.
If you do not define a background color, the system will display the planned appointments depending on the existing planning authority in yellow (with planning authority or pale yellow (without planning authority) as standard.
  • Planned Start Delayed
The surgery is planned and has not yet been started. However, the planned start is already in the past.
  • Process Flow Start
The process flow of the surgery was started as planned (promptly) (documented start of surgery).
If you do not define a background color, the system will display surgeries with the status "Process Flow Start" in dark green as standard.
  • Process Flow Start Delayed
The process flow of the surgery was started later then planned (documented start of surgery).
If you do not define a background color, the system will display surgeries with the status "Process Flow Start Delayed" in pale red as standard.
  • Time Stamp
You can display a surgery with a specific time stamp with a special color.
  • Planned End Delayed
The surgery will probably end later than planned (appointment time + duration).
  • Process Flow End
The surgery was ended promptly (documented end of surgery).
If you do not define a background color, the system will display surgeries with the status "Process Flow End" in gray as standard.
  • Process Flow End Delayed
The surgery actually ended later then planned (documented end of surgery).

The start always corresponds to the defined time stamp for the OR entry or the time the defined status was set. The end corresponds to the time stamp for the OR exit.

For seconday surgeries, for example, the following statusses are possible:

  • Process Flow Start
  • Time Stamp
  • Process Flow End
If you do not define a background color, the system will display secondary surgeries with the status "Process Flow End" in gray as standard.

Start of the secondary surgery is the time stamp for the start of the secondary surgery. End of the secondary surgery is the time stamp for the end of the secondary surgery.

If you select the Time Stamp status, you can enter a specific time stamp in the Time column.

Furthermore, you can use the Planning Authority column for all color settings to determine whether polanning authority must exist for the display area.

In the Color column you can enter a hexadecimal RGB value or call the color selector using the input help.

The time stamps for the process flow start and end are defined in customizing.

The planning grid must be installed as a prerequisite for the use of the graphical color selector.

You first plan a surgery as planned and allocate an appointment.

  • If the planned start time of a surgery has already passed, but the surgery has not yet been started, the surgery has the statusPlanned Start Delayed.
  • When you start the surgery, i.e. set the time stamp for the OR entry, the surgery has the statusProcess Flow Start.
  • If the surgery has already started but the process flow started later than the planned start, the surgery has the status Process Flow Start Delayed.
  • If the system time exceeds the planned end, the surgery receives the status Planned End Delayed.
  • If the time stamp for the OR exit is set, the surgery receives the status Process Flow End.
  • If the surgery has already ended but the actual end is after the planned end, the surgery has the status Process Flow End Delayed.

This chronological process also determined the coloring of the status.

When determining the background color of a main surgery the system will proceed as follows:

  • The system checks whether the process flow end is delayed for a surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow End Delayed" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow end is not delayed, or if the process flow end is delayed but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the status "Process Flow End Delayed", the system checks the process flow end of this surgery.
  • The system checks whether the process flow end exists for this surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow End" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow end does not exist, or if the process flow end exists but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the status "Process Flow End", the system checks the status "Planned End Delayed" for this surgery.
  • The system checks whether the planned end is delayed for this surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Planned End Delayed" from this IMG activity.
If the planned end is not delayed, or if the planned end is delayed but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the status "Process Flow End", the system checks the status "Time Stamp" for this surgery.
  • The system checks whether time stamps are set for this surgery (apart from Process Flow Start and Process Flow End) and, if necessary, determines the color setting for the time stamp set last ("Time Stamp" status) from this IMG activity.
If no time stamps are set or if time stamps are set but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the time stamps ("Time Stamp" status), the system checks the status "Process Flow Start Delayed" for this surgery.
  • The system checks whether the process flow start is delayed for this surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow Start Delayed" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow start is not delayed, or if the process flow start is delayed but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the status "Process Flow Start Delayed", the system checks the process flow start of this surgery.
  • The system checks whether the process flow start exists for this surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow Start" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow start does not exist or if it does exist but no color setting for the status "Process Flow Start" is defined in this IMG activity, the system displays the surgery with the background color used for the corresponding status as standard (see above).

When determining the background color of a secondary surgery the system will proceed as follows:

  • The system checks whether the process flow end exists for this secondary surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow End" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow end does not exist, or if the process flow end exists but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the status "Process Flow End", the system checks the status "Time Stamp" for this secondary surgery.
  • The system checks whether time stamps are set for this secondary surgery (apart from Process Flow Start and Process Flow End) and, if necessary, determines the color setting for the time stamp set last ("Time Stamp" status) from this IMG activity.
If no time stamps are set or if time stamps are set but no color setting is defined in this IMG activity for the time stamps ("Time Stamp" status), the system checks the process flow start for this secondary surgery.
  • The system checks whether the process flow start exists for this secondary surgery and, if necessary determines the color setting for the status "Process Flow Start" from this IMG activity.
If the process flow start does not exist or if it does exist but no color setting for the status "Process Flow Start" is defined in this IMG activity, the system displays the secondary surgery with the background color used for the corresponding status as standard (see above).
