In this IMG activity, you control whether and how a switch to the next status is to take place after a document has been exited.

The execution of this function is controlled using a BAdI.

If the enhancement spot ES_ISHMED_DOC_PROCESSING is not implemented, the function is executed automatically by the fallback class CL_ISHMED_DOC_PROCESSING.

If the enhancement spot has been implemented, you must transfer the source code from the fallback class into the implementation.

If the system determines suitable table entries, it evaluates them according to the following priorities:

1. Own user

2. Role of own user

3. All users (* entries possible)

4. All roles (* entries possible)

If the system determines more than one suitable entry, for example, when users are assigned to several roles, it proceeds as follows:

  • If the destination status is unique, the system performs the status switch according to the configured action. If the actions are different, the ‘Query for Status Change’ setting overrides the ‘Status Change Without Query Setting’.
  • If the destination status is not unique, the system displays the statuses for the user to set manually.

The system interprets asterisk entries (=’*’) as “all”. The use of wildcards (i.e. * in combination with incomplete search terms) is not possible.

For each document category, source status, and user or (alternatively!) role, enter the relevant action and the destination status.

Avoid an automatic switch to the next status from source statuses that are manually set during document processing, for example, from a Released status. This kind of automatic switch could result in an unintentional switch to the next status when the document is exited.

Do not set the Release indicator in the next status after the Release status. If you disregard this recommendation, when this type of status is reached the system will repeat the release check routines which frequently require a dialog interaction. It is sufficient to set the Lock Status indicator (S).
