You use this business add-in (BAdI) to control the loading of image series in a DICOM image viewer in the radiology work stations and in the radiological findings report.

This BAdI is not active in the standard system. As a result the system reads the Customizing for Image Viewers and, depending on the configured program type, URL or EXE, calls the active implementation for controlling the DICOM image viewer.

  • Create a new implementation for the BAdI ISHMED_RAD_LSTUDY.
  • Assign a name for your own BAdI implementation and the implementing class.
Note: You should adhere to the namespace conventions.
  • Implement the connection of the external image viewers in the method IF_EX_ISHMED_RAD_LSTUDY~LOAD_STUDY( ). Set the export parameter P_EXECUTE to 'X' to indicate to the system that the control of the image viewer is completely implemented with this method.
  • Activate and test your implementation.

The loading and display of DICOM images is triggered, for example, in the task list of the radiology work stations.

You must have implemented the relevant project-specific drivers. A prerequisite for this is that the corresponding programming interfaces (API) exist for the image viewer to be addressed. You must retrieve the specification from the relevant manufacturer.

The program type (D)COM is supported for reasons of downwards compatibility. The ActiveX components Study Stub (IshmRccLSStub.ocx), Load Study Server (ISHMLSServer.exe) and viewer-specific drivers control the communication with the viewer. The ActiveX components are linked to an automatic installation process of i.s.h.med.

This BAdI uses the interface IF_EX_ISHMED_RAD_LSTUDY. For more information, display the interface in the Class Builder.
