SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you define access sequences, the search strategies used by the system to search for valid determination records for a specific VAS template determination type (defined in IMG activity Define Determination Type for VAS Template).

You determine that the system searches for a VAS template, firstly by combination of material and customer (as defined in IMG activity Define Key for VAS Template Determination), and subsequently, only by customer.

  • If you define your own access sequences, begin with the letter Z, as SAP has kept this name range free in the standard system.
  • Do not change the access sequences already contained in the standard system.

  1. Check the extent to which you can use the access sequences already contained in the standard system.
  2. Create an access sequence, either from the beginning or based on an existing one:
    1. To create a new access sequence based on an existing one, choose the line corresponding to the access sequence and then choose Edit -> Copy As..from the top menu.
    2. Modify the access sequence, assign it an alphanumeric key of up to 4 figures and enter a description.
  3. To modify an access sequence:
    1. Choose the line corresponding to the access sequence.
    2. Choose Accesses.
    3. Enter the condition tables in the desired sequence.
    4. If you want to view the key fields for a table, choose the line corresponding to a table and choose Fields.
  4. The system automatically generates the accesses (from release 3.0 onwards). If you want to manually execute generation, choose Utilities.
