SIMG_LEYMLOCGRP - Define Yard Location Groups

In this IMG activity, you can define yard location groups consisting of locations of the same location class or warehouse storage types. This allows you to subsequently do the following:

• Assign doors, staging areas, yard locations and storage types to the location groups (in IMG activities Define Doors, Define Staging Areas, Define Yard Locations and Assign Storage Types to Yard Location Groups)

• Define location group relationships (in IMG activity Define Location Group Relationships), which refine the system's automatic scheduling and location determination mechanisms by restricting the pool of:

• Doors and staging areas that the system can automatically schedule for a vehicle

• Parking spaces that the system can select as the destination of a movement activity for a vehicle already scheduled to a door

For each location group that you define:

1. Enter the yard and warehouse number.
2. In the Loc. Group field, enter a name for the location group.
3. In the Loc.Class field, choose the yard or warehouse location class comprising of the locations that will be included in the group.
4. Enter textual descriptions for the group.
