In this step you can create a company specific initial screen for Manager's Desktop by entering your company logo or creating your own background picture.

  • The file format of the picture you want to insert must be of type *.jpg or *.gif. You cannot use files of type *.bmp.
  • The following restrictions apply to the size of the company logo or the background picture:
  1. The background picture must be exactly 525 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.
  2. The company logo can be 180 pixels wide and 590 pixels high at most.
  3. The background for both layouts must be either transparent or white.

To create your own company logo or background picture, you must have first created two relevant binary files using the SAP Web Repository. This is done as follows:

  1. Using transactoin SMW0, access the SAP Web Repository:Initial screen.
  2. Select Binary Fields for WebRFC-applications and choose Continue.
  3. From the SAP-Web Repository:Object Selection dialog box, choose Execute. This will open the SAP-Web Repository:Object Display dialog box. If Y_MDT_LOGO or Y_MDT_PICTURE have already been entered, select Change and go to step 5.
  4. Select Create. This opens another dialog box. In the Object name field enter the name Y_MDT_LOGO to create a logo and Y_MDT_PICTURE to create a background picture. Ensure that you enter these names, as the system searches for them exactly. In the Description field insert any appropriate text, for example Customer specific MDT_Logo or background picture.
  5. Select Import. This opens the Import from Local Data dialog box.
  6. Enter the path from which data from your PC is to be read. There is an entry help with a list of possible entries. In the Data format field, BIN must be the default.
  7. Select Transfer.
Note that you must delete the entry Y_MDT_LOGO or Y_MDT_PICTURE if you want to see the original logo or picture.
