This is one of the geographic elements within the Differential Reference Code (DRC).

The Wide Area Pricing zone (WAP) may be used to construct pricing conditions.

Each ship-to party may be assigned a DRC which is then defaulted into sales documents created for shipment to that customer. The Wide Area Pricing zone is an element of this DRC and is automatically defaulted into the sales document with the DRC at item level.

You must define the Wide Area Pricing zones in this customizing menu before you can define a DRC which contains a Wide Area Pricing zone as one of its components.

  • Enter a meaningful description for each Wide Area Pricing zone, such as:
  • a location within a city: e.g., HNW (Houston North West)

  • a pricing area which includes several cities: e.g., Dallas/Fort Worth

  • a part of a standard post code: e.g., in the UK, a post code WC2R 3LT may be interpreted in the DRC components so that the last three characters are used as the Wide Area Pricing zone.

Decide on the application for the Wide Area Pricing zone which is most appropriate to location specific pricing in your company.

You maintain Differential Reference Codes in table OICDC in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing MAP (Marketing, Accounting and Pricing) → DRC (Differential Reference Code) → Define DRC (Differential Reference Code).
