In this IMG activity, you define calculations.

Calculations are defined for the measurement system and are generally used to convert measurement readings into standardized units.

Each calculation is implemented by a function which is defined to the measurement system here. The function must have a standard interface consisting of an input table of parameters and readings, and an output table of standardized readings. When the calculation function is defined to the measurement system, parameters may be defined which will be passed from the measurement system to the function, and which may be used within the calculation function itself.

Example

OIU_QCI_STD_CONVERSION,,Calculate Gas Volume, Quantity, Energy by QCI

Calculation parameters:

OBSAE,,,,Observed Actual Energy

OBSAV,,,,Observed Actual Volume

OBSEE,,,,Observed Entitled Energy

OBSEV,,,,Observed Entitled Volume

OBSHV,,,,Observed Heating Value Factor

OBSHVCLS,,,,Observed Heating Value Class

OBSMTMETPR,,Material met. press.: obs.vol.

OBSMTMETTP,,Material met. temp.: obs. vol.

OBSQTY,,,,Observed Quantity

OBSTSTCOMP,,Test comb. pressure: obs. hval

OBSTSTCOMT,,Test comb. temp.: obs. Hval

Requirements

The calculation already exists.

Standard settings

The PRA system is supplied with standard calculations for quantity conversion and the calculation of heating values.

Recommendation

Calculation functions need not be defined to the measurement system before they are used. If a calculation function uses several parameters, however, it is recommended that it be defined, and that the parameters are given identifiers here. This will prevent any confusion among the different parameters within the calculation function itself.

Activities

1. Choose Calculation functions.

2. In the Function module column, enter the code identifying the calculation. Then enter a short description.

3. Choose Calculation parameters.

4. Enter all parameters for the calculation.

5. Save the calculation.
