In this IMG activity, you define PRA rounding rules.

Rounding rules within the PRA system are defined by unit of measure. Measurement readings may be rounded to a fixed number of decimal places or to the nearest factor of 10 (i.e., to the nearest 10, 100, 1000).

While rounding to decimal places is defined using positive numbers between 0 and 9, rounding to factors of ten is defined using negative numbers between 1 and 9.

If a rounding rule is not specified for a unit of measure, the default rounding of three decimal places is used.

GAL,,2,,Gallons are rounded to two decimal places

H,,0,,Hours are rounded to the nearest whole number (zero decimal places)

"3,,3-,,Cubic inches are rounded to the nearest 1 000

The UoM must be a valid MSEHI in the T006 and T006_OIB tables.

The PRA system is supplied with commonly used units of measure configured with appropriate rounding rules.

The standard setup will be suitable for most applications.

1. Choose Units of Measure → Define Rounding.

2. Choose New entries. Then enter the appropriate SAP-defined unit of measure code that requires rounding precision.

3. In the Factor row that corresponds with the unit of measure code you entered, enter the rounding factor.

4. If you want to set the number of decimals for which Contractual Allocation will carry out rounding to something other than 3 decimals, complete the CA Rounding field as required.

Note: CA volumes are delivered in PRA to be carried out to 3 decimals, and the number of decimals that you set for CA rounding must be more than or equal to the number of decimals set for production allocations for the individual unit of measure.

CA rounding affects both actual and entitlement volumes. In addition, the system rounds the amounts allocated to owners to the same decimal that is used to allocate the total amount to contracts.

5. Save the entries.

Sometimes rounding rules may be overridden by the configuration of reading types within the measurement system.

See Define Reading Types for additional information.
