SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you create your own SAP GUI tags or change the standard SAP GUI tags.

Note that any tags you define in this activity will override the standard SAP tags in the event of a conflict. We recommend that the standard SAP tags are not overridden.

Note:

You can display the standard SAP tags with the transaction Maintain Table Views: Initial Screen (SM30) in the Maintenance View for SAPGUI Tags (NWBC_VS_GUI_TAG).

  1. In NetWeaver Business Cliient (NWBC), call the SAP GUI transaction for which you want to define tags.
  2. In NWBC, choose Ctrl + Help-> Tools-> SAP GUI Property Collector:
    1. Choose Select from Screen.
    2. Hold the left mouse button and select the fields on the screen. All selectable fields are highlighted red.
    3. Choose Add to Collection.
    4. Repeat steps 2(a) to (c) for all the required fields.
    5. Finally select all the fields in the Property Collectionand choose Copy to Clipboard.
Note:
Make sure that you always tag all the key fields belonging to an entity. For example, for an FI document (transaction FB03) this would be the Document Number, Company Code, and Business Year fields.
For more information on SAP GUI Property Collector, choose Help -> SAP NWBC Helpin the NWBC menu.
  1. Transfer the fields from the clipboard to the Customizing activity Define Additional SAP GUI Tags.
To do so, choose New Entriesand copy the fields from the clipboard to the view.
  1. For each field, fill the columns Tag, Lifetime, Data Element and Package:
  • We recommend choosing the standard SAP tags from input help. All the tags provided by SAP start with /BSSP/:.

  • The entry for Lifetimeis usually Transaction. If the tags are only relevant for specific screens within one transaction, choose Main Screen.

  • The Data Element field is only relevant when an external-internal conversion has to be performed; in this case the data element is used for the conversion (for example, to determine the correct conversion exit).

  • In the Packagefield, enter your customer-specific package.

  1. Save your entries.

Note:

You can override standard SAP tags by creating entries with identical key fields, program name, screen, and tag, but with different attributes.

For more information, see:

  • SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/nw703. In SAP Library choose SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver by Key Capability -> Application Platform by Key Capability -> ABAP Technology -> UI Technologies in ABAP -> SAP NetWeaver Business Client -> Programming Aspects -> Side-Panel Programming.
