This section explains how to set up an employee's address.

For further information, refer to the section "Individual fields", or to the documentation on the form editor in the SAP Library.

Addresses can only be displayed at fixed positions (individual fields).

The procedure for setting up an address differs from the procedure described in the step "Individual fields" with regard to the entries made in the field Table field in the table Addresses. Only the following values are used in this field for addresses:

  • LINE0
  • LINE1
  • LINE2
  • LINE3
  • LINE4
  • LINE5
  • LINE6
  • LINE7
  • LINE8
  • LINE9
  • LINEK

Each of these values represents an address line that only specifies a specific piece of information. Several entries are required for a complete address. The entry for the first address line must have the value "LINE0" in the field Table field. The entry for the second address line must have the value "LINE1", and so on. The values for individual lines must, therefore, always start with "LINE0", be sequential, and be assigned without gaps.

The number of entries required for an address depends on how many address lines are to be printed on the remuneration statement. A maximum of 10 address lines can be defined. If you only require one address line, use the value "LINEK".

When creating a remuneration statement, SAP uses an internal address layout program which uses defined address lines to create the address format according to the postal regulations of the country in question.

The scope of the address layout depends on the number of address lines defined. If a single address line or only a few address lines are defined, the only address elements printed are those that are indispensible, such as NAME, STREET or P.O. BOX and CITY. Data may be suppressed. If a greater number of address lines is defined, address information, such as FORM OF ADDRESS and TITLE, can also be printed. Additional address lines also facilitate an address layout which is more pleasing to the eye, for example, by including blank lines.

The following is a guide as to the number of address lines that should be used:

For German-speaking countries (Germany, Switzerland, Austria), there should be 3 to 4 address lines.

Examples

Example 1

You want to create 3 address lines in lines 15 to 17, from column 11, for form "ZF01". The address is to be printed on each page of a remuneration statement. To do this, enter the following:

PType Position   Table   Table field   Output length
FP 15 011 ADRS   LINE0   40
FP 16 011 ADRS   LINE1   40
FP 17 011 ADRS   LINE2   40

Three address lines are defined by the values "ADRS-LINE0", "ADRS-LINE1" and "ADRS-LINE2". Length 40 was chosen as the output length of these address lines.

The address could be printed as follows in this example (depending on the country in question):

or

Example 2

You want to create 5 address lines in lines 13 to 17, from column 11, for form "ZF01". The address should be printed on every page of the remuneration statement. To do this, enter:

PType Position   Table   Table field   Output length
EP 05 001 ADRS   LINE0   40
EP 05 001 ADRS   LINE1   40
EP 05 001 ADRS   LINE2   40
EP 05 001 ADRS   LINE3   40
EP 05 001 ADRS   LINE4   40

Five address lines are defined by the values LINE0 through LINE5.

The address could be printed as follows in this example (depending on country):
