In this activity, you create and maintain substitutions.

Student Lifecycle Management does not contain any predefined substitutions.

  1. Expand the Student Lifecycle Management hierarchy to the desired application area and select this area.
  2. Select the substitution or substitution step you want to edit.
  3. To create a new substitution, choose Create substitution.
    1. Enter a name and description for the substitution.
    2. Insert the required substitution steps.
    3. Enter the field you want to use for the substitution.
    4. Enter the prerequisite and specify how the substitution is to be performed.
  4. Choose Save.

Student Lifecycle Management contains user exit programs that can be used in substitutions. Possible substitutions can consist of one step and use substitutable fields of the type Exit only. You can specify the following user exit programs as exits and create the required substitutions:

Exit Substitution
UCP1 Replace average grades for admission
UCP2 Replace academic calendars
UCP3 Replace business events of students
UCP4 Replace modules of students
UCP5 Replace qualifications of students
UCP6 Replace additional data of students
UCP7 Replace test results and external subjects of students

In the application Progression, you can set the following progression status by substitution: You can set the subsequent status to 002 if the current status is 002 and the student has a value of at least 2.0 and 30.0 in average grades 1 and 2 respectively. This scenario describes a student with good grades.

Prerequisite:
PIQRULEPROGR-A_PROGSTAT = '002' AND
PIQRULEPROGR-SINDX_1 > = '2.00' AND
PIQRULEPROGR-SINDX_2 >= '30.00' (menu path Setting -> Technical name)

Substitution:
The subsequent progression status (PIQRULEPROGR-N_PROGSTAT) is replaced by the constant value 2.

You can transport substitutions to the production system manually using the function Substitution -> Transport. You can also transport substitutions using the IMG activity intended for this purpose. For more information on transporting substitutions, refer to the activity Transport Substitutions.
