This is a special function which you can use if the standard functions
are not sufficient for your purposes.

In this step, you can determine whether you want overtime to be checked
on a weekly basis. This is necessary if overtime is only to be generated once the weekly planned working time has been completed.

An employee has a daily overtime approval of 2 hours and a planned working time of 40 hours weekly. This employee works for 9 hours on 2 days of the week, 7 hours on another day, and 8 hours on the remaining days. One hour for incomplete planned working time is subtracted from the 2 hours of overtime, meaning that the employee is finally credited with 1 hour of overtime.

The weekly planned working time must be specified in the work schedule rule.

You require subschemas TWO0 and TWO1 if you wish overtime to be checked on a weekly basis.

In schema TOW0, overtime is generated provisionally for time pairs which exceed the daily planned time or fall short of the maximum daily working time, and for which an attendance quota exists. This occurs in personnel calculation rule TOW1.

The day's planned working hours and overtime hours are then logged in different time types in personnel calculation rule TOW2.

In personnel calculation rule TOW3, a check is made to see whether there is already a correction quota. Time pairs within the correction quota are flagged and assigned the time type for planned work.

The flagged pairs are converted to planned working times. The total of the hours converted is logged in the time type "Additional weekly planned time". Finally, overtime is generated for pairs that were not converted into planned time pairs.

The correction quota is created in subschema TOW1. The system checks whether the employee has completed his/her weekly planned working time (PCR TOW6). If not, the number of hours to be revised is entered in a utility time type. A batch input session is generated from the utility time type in personnel calculation rule TOW7 in order that the correction quota can be imported.

The function for accessing the two subschemas is deactivated in the standard SAP system.

Create a periodic background job for importing the batch input session.

Decide whether you want to compensate incomplete planned weekly working time with overtime.

If you do, activate functions COPY TOW0 and COPY TOW1.

  • If you want overtime to be determined on a weekly basis, activate both functions (COPY TOW0 and COPY TOW1).
