SAP E-Book

You create condition rates from excise tax rates which have already been created in SAP Oil & Gas (initial replication).

Excise tax and excise duty are used synonymously in this text.

The condition rates are automatically replicated to the corresponding condition table(s) in SAP CRM and used for the excise tax handling in SAP CRM.

You need the following information:

  • Which subset of the external tax rates should be used in the context of Customer Relationship Management.
  • Which subset of the internal tax rates should be used in the context of Customer Relationship Management.

Excise tax rates have already been created:

  • External excise tax rates corresponding to tax rates issued by the tax authorities and saved in table OIH01.
  • Internal tax rates corresponding to tax rates defined by your company and saved in a condition table (tables A442 and A443 are delivered as examples by SAP).

  • Recommendation

Only perform this activity, if you want to use excise tax handling in a scenario integrating Customer Relationship Management (Release 4.0 or higher) with the Industry Solution Oil & Gas.

By choosing SAP Menu → Tools → ABAP Workbench → Overview → Data Browser check if entries in the following tables exist:

  • OIH01
  • In the condition table, where the internal tax rates are saved (tables A442 and A443 are delivered as examples by SAP).

If in none of the tables entries exist, this activity is not needed.

For entries in table OIH01 perform the following steps:

  1. Check that you have configured in Customizing Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) → Integration with Customer Relationship Management → Excise Tax → Maintain Rule for Mapping External Excise Tax Rates to Condition Rates. The configured condition table(s) are the targets for the replication in the next step.
  2. Run the report ROIH01_REPLICATE to initially replicate the needed subset of the existing external tax rates to condition rates. For this purpose, perform the steps:
    1. Call transaction SA38.
    2. Enter the report name ROIH01_REPLICATE.
    3. Choose Execute.
    4. Enter the select-options for the subset of the external tax rates you want to replicate to the condition table(s) to be used in the context of Customer Relationship Management.
    5. Choose Execute.
  3. Analyze potential errors after the report has run. If mapping errors are reported, check :
    1. Whether you have maintained the settings in Customizing Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) → Integration with Customer Relationship Management → Excise Tax → Map Excise Tax Groups to Product Tax Groups to convert excise tax groups to product tax groups,
    2. whether the company codes entered in table OIH01 have valid countries associated with or
    3. whether the plants entered in table OIH01have valid regions associated with.
  4. If batch input sessions have been created by the report, you have to run transaction SM35 and process the corresponding sessions to check for errors, which have been occured.

For entries in the condition table, where you save the internal tax rates (tables A442 and A443 are delivered as examples by SAP) perform the following steps:

  1. Initial replication: Create for each condition record in this condition table a corresponding entry in table A419. There is no tool delivered by SAP to ensure this automatically, you have to create this using transaction VK11.
  2. Delta replication: For each condition record in the condition table you create or change later on you have to create a new one or maintain the corresponding one in table A419. There is no tool delivered by SAP to ensure this automatically, you have to create or change them using transaction VK11or VK12.
  3. If you are using an own defined access sequence for excise tax handling, you might have to adapt it for the use with table A419. For details refer to the access sequence OIH1, which is delivered by SAP as an example.
