As part of the Remote Logistics Management (RLM) supply chain, RLM - at various times - needs to determine a supplying plant or storage location that will be used to fulfill a material request that is generated within RLM. That information is usually provided by the special procurement type on the material master. However, you can enter a default supplying plant here as an alternative.

RLM searches for a supplying plant first using the special procurement type, and if none is found in that way, it then uses this Customizing option.

There is no equivalent for the default supplying storage location, and so the supplying storage location must always be specified using the special procurement type.
