In this work step you activate individual MRP groups for requirements grouping in individual project planning.

In requirements grouping, the requirements from several WBS elements in one or more projects are grouped together in a grouping WBS element.

This has the advantage that you can plan materials from different projects together. These materials are kept in the project stock segment of the grouping WBS element.

In order to use requirements grouping for a material, the following prerequisites have to be met:

  • The material is planned using MRP.
  • You have created an MRP group that you have activated for requirements grouping and you have assigned this MRP group to the material on the MRP screen in the material master.
  • You have defined a grouping WBS element. You have also assigned the WBS element, to which the material component is allocated, to this grouping WBS element.

When you create a new MRP group, it is not automatically activated for requirements grouping.

Set the Requirements grouping indicator for the MRP groups that you want to use for requirements grouping.

Further notes

For more information on requirements grouping, see the SAP Library for the Project System under Material.
