You can choose to create any of the following user-defined fields for WBS elements:

  • General text fields
You can use these fields to enter data such as person responsible, substitutions or proxies, internal phone numbers and so on.
  • Quantity fields and units
You can define formula parameters for quantity fields. For example, work center formula calculations or network costing.
  • Value fields and units
You can define value fields for storing amount-related information where the unit can correspond to the currency key.
  • Date fields
You can use these fields to enter relevant dates such as internal start date.
  • Checkboxes
You can use these options to carry out further analysis using various project-based reports available under Information System.

The contents of the user-defined fields can be set based on your requirements and are not verified by the system.

You can make your own enhancements (such as customer-specific functions) to the user-defined fields.

The enhancement CNEX0001 is available for you to do this in development class CN (application development SAP PS Project management). Create a check of user-defined fields in a standard WBS

For the field key, you can define the user-defined fields as required.

You have the option to exclude these user-defined fields in a project definition, WBS element, network activity or activity element.
