In this step you can select which fields will appear on screens for the standard project definition and standard WBS elements.

For each screen modification group, you can define so-called modifiable and influencing fields:

  • For the modifiable fields, you use indicators to determine how the individual fields are shown on the screen:
  • The field is ready for input (default setting)

  • The field requires an entry (required entry)

  • The field is display only

  • The field is hidden

  • The field is highlighted

For example, if you specify that the work center is a required entry forconfirmations of networks, you must enter a work center in all confirmations.
  • For the influencing fields, you determine via a value how a modifiable field is shown on the screen. For example, that the work center is a required entry for a certain order type.

You can transport the field selection settings and the system retains them during release upgrades.

If you change an influencing field, you can thereby change a modifiable field to a required entry (that is, mandatory), the system will not check if entries have been made in this field in all possible objects.

No default settings are available for field selection.

The modifiable and influencing fields are predefined for each screen modification group and cannot be added to.

Proceed as follows to define a field selection

There are several ways to define a field selection

You maintain the indicators of the modifiable fields, regardless of an influencing value

  1. Position the cursor on a screen modification group.
  2. Choose the function key Modifiable.
All fields that you can modify for this screen modification group are displayed on the screen.
  1. Maintain the indicators and save your entries.

For an influencing field, you maintain an influencing value and then the indicators for the modifiable fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen modification group.
  2. Choose the function key Influencing.
All fields for which you can maintain influencing values are displayed on the screen.
  1. Double click to select the influencing field for which you want to maintain a value.
All fields that you can modify for the influencing value are displayed on the screen.
  1. Maintain a value in the field Influencing value and the corresponding indicators for the modifiable fields.
  2. Press ENTER.
The entries are copied.
  1. Maintain further values for the influencing field or select further fields using the function key Influencing.
  2. Save your entries.

You maintain an indicator for a modifiable field and determine the values of the influencing fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen modification group.
  2. Choose the function key Modifiable.
All fields that you can modify for this screen modification group are displayed on the screen.
  1. Double click to select a modifiable field for which you want to maintain influencing values.
All influencing fields are displayed on the screen.
  1. Position the cursor on an influencing field for which you would like to enter a value and choose New values.
A dialog box is displayed on the screen.
  1. Maintain the value and indicator for the influencing field and choose Continue.
The values are copied.
  1. Save your entries.
  1. Determine the screen modification group for which you want to modify fields.
  2. Maintain the indicators for the modifiable fields and the values for the influencing fields.
  3. Transport your settings, if necessary. To do this, choose Field selection -> Transport.
