Define the output type you want to use whenever a sales document is changed.

Whenever the output of a sales document is triggered, the system checks which output type should be used. The output type defines the output parameters. In this configuration activity, you can specify and enable an output type for documents that are changed by a business user or automatically.

Note that the regular output for the document must have been triggered before the system determines the output type for changed sales documents.

The business rules for the determination of the output type for both regular sales documents and changed sales documents are set up in the Output Parameter Determination app.

SAP delivers examples of output types for changed documents. You can enable one or more of these examples. Note that for any entry (for example, for a specific sales document category), you must then also make the corresponding settings in the subsequent configuration activities.

Check to what extent you can use the examples. To change an example, proceed as follows:

  1. For the entry with SALES_DOCUMENT as application object type and the output type you have defined for regular sales document outputs as your source document output type, choose an output type for changed documents.
  2. Enable the determination for your new entry.
  3. If you want to stop using a specific output type for changed documents, disable the corresponding entry.

You want to show texts in the output that let business users or customers know that data in a customer return was changed. In the entry with SALES_DOCUMENT as application object type and the output type for the regular output of unchanged customer returns (CUSTOMER_RETURN), you choose CUSTOMER_RETURN_CHANGE as the output type for changed customer returns, and enable and save your entry.
