In this activity, you can generate a virtual InfoProvider on the basis of a controlling area.

Using a virtual InfoProvider, you can execute queries for cost center line items in your ERP system by accessing the embedded BW functions available without having to first extract these from a BI system. Consequently, you can use for your data analyses not only the classic cost center line item report but also all SAP BusinessObjects BI clients, BEx tools, and other BI clients that are certified on the MDX interface for BW.
