Users can choose their preferred predefined mini scenarios and create their own personalized menus and default values. The system becomes more focused towards the individual user and so, easier to manage and simpler to maintain. Customizing requires a series of definition activities that create a profile unique to the user name and the service type chosen. SAP offers a number of predefined profiles to assign users, but you can also opt to create your own profiles through customizing, based on the mini scenarios available.

User JaneD is assigned a profile. The profile is created to her specifications using the mini scenarios offered in the system. Since this user will be using a PDA device the profile is created for this specific service type. The style for the profile is defined and then mini scenarios are assigned to the user's main menu screen. The sequence of templates and links to appear on the user's screen is also defined. Default values for some of the fields to appear in the templates can then be assigned. When all necessary definitions have been entered and saved, user JaneD's profile is defined and ready to be used.

User-specific customization is accomplished by setting or creating profiles. To do this you must follow the IMG activities detailed under Maintain CRM Personalization. The activities are comprised of display-only tables and definition tables. The display-only tables provide information that is essential for the definition tables and for successful customizing.

The IMG activities under this node are sequenced in the order you must proceed in, in order to personalize your system using a new profile. If you wish to use SAP generated profiles you need only use dialogue Assign Profile to User.

Mini scenarios can neither be created, nor changed.

Handheld customizing activities are device type specific. For each device type there is a corresponding internet service file. Profiles are service type specific and are affected by a device's capabilities, such as screen display and memory.
