SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity, you can make a field selection for the screens of the material components.

All screens for which a field selection is allowed are put into screen groups. These are:

  • Material Overview
  • Detail View for Material

Modifiable and influencing fields are defined for each screen group:

  • You use an indicator to specify how modifiable fields are displayed on the screen:
  • Field is ready for input (standard setting)

  • Field requires an entry (required entry field)

  • Field is displayed only

  • Field is hidden

  • Field is highlighted

If you flag the storage location as a required entry field for the overview screen, for example, you must specify the storage location every time you enter a material.
  • For influencing fields, you specify a value to determine how the modifiable field is displayed on the screen. You can specify that the storage location is only required for specific order types, for example.

Note

The field selection settings can be transported and are not overwritten if there is a release upgrade.

If a modifiable field is required when an influencing field is changed, the system does not check if this field is filled in all existing objects.

Required entry fields that are prescribed by the application cannot be modified.

Modifiable and influencing fields are fixed for each screen group and cannot be enhanced.

You can choose Edit -> Other View to display the technical names of the fields.

No standard settings are delivered for the field selection.
