In this IMG activity, you assign a document type to a document type group, and create the document group if necessary. You then determine the responsible agents for the work item, and select the storage scenarios you want to use.

The term Default settingrefers to the document type group. The grouping can be workplace-related or application-related. Document types are grouped to improve clarity on the initial screen of the storage process "Store documents".

In the right screen area is an overview of all existing default settings.

  1. If you want to assign the new document type to one of these default settings, select the setting and choose Entries in the left screen area.
If you want to create a new default setting, choose Edit → New Entries. Enter a technical name and an informative description for your new default setting and choose Entries in the left screen area.
In the right screen area, a list is displayed of all document types that belong to the default setting.
  1. Enter the new document type.
  2. Specify the agents responsible for processing documents of this document type.
  • Select the required object type from workplace, job, organizational unit, position, or user.

The object types are defined in HR Org-Management (organizational model). For more information on HR-Org Management, see the documentation HR - Organizational Management.
  • Enter the appropriate agent ID for the organizational unit. For example, for the organizational unit "US", enter the user "Smith".

  1. Set the flag for the storage scenarios that can be selected for the document type.
Only the storage scenarios with the flag set are offered to the end user on the "Store documents" screen when selecting the symbol for the document type.
  1. Save your settings.

Note: You can also perform this customizing activity using the Document Types Customizing Wizard.
