Assign warehouse numbers from Logistics Execution to plant and storage locations.

To ensure that SAP S/4HANA can recognize which storage locations in Materials Management are controlled by the Warehouse Management system (LE-WM), you must assign the plants and the storage location to the warehouse number.

To ensure that SAP S/4HANA Cloud can recognize which storage locations from Materials Management are controlled by Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, a decentralized warehouse management system, or a decentralized SAP EWM system, you must assign the plants and the storage locations to the warehouse number from Logistics Execution.

Within a plant it is possible to assign several storage locations to the same warehouse number in Logistics Execution.

Note that you cannot assign more than one storage location to the same warehouse number in Logistics Execution if the warehouse number is linked to a warehouse number in Warehouse Management.

You can also remove assignments you made earlier to correct errors if required. Please make sure to check if the entry you’re about to delete is still in use, for example in an active communication arrangement. Before you can safely remove any assignments, you should completely process any related delivery documents.

Please note that it is not possible to remove assignments that were shipped by SAP from this list. Here we would ask you to refer also to the notes in the chapter Define storage location control (WM interface to Inventory Management).

The component MM-IM (Inventory Management) is implemented.

If you are using a decentralized WMS or a decentralized SAP EWM system, before you assign warehouse numbers to storage locations, ensure that storage location stock levels are identical in both SAP S/4HANA Cloud and your decentralized system. You must increase the initial stock in SAP S/4HANA Cloud to the same level as your existing WMS or decentralized SAP EWM system before you assign warehouse numbers to storage locations. This is particularly important if you already have an existing WMS or decentralized SAP EWM system with the correct stock levels in your production environment.

If you don't increase the initial stock in SAP S/4HANA Cloud to the same level as your existing WMS or decentralized SAP EWM system before you maintain the assignment of warehouse numbers to storage locations, any stock postings (including initial stock posting) involving the assigned storage locations would result in the creation of deliveries in both systems. This would lead to a discrepancy in stock levels between the two systems.

After each table transport into the target system, check the consistency of the assignments.
