SIMG_SSM_VAL - Replace variables in web addresses (URLs)

In the case of Web addresses, you can define variable that are then replaced by the appropriate value at runtime. The Web addresses are used, for example, as menu nodes in roles or favorites. The roles and favorite are displayed, for example, in the SAP Easy Access Menu and on the LaunchPad in the portal.

In the accompanying activity, you can define variables and the associated values. The variables are automatically replaced in the Web addresses at runtime. In the Web addresses, you must enter the variables in pointed brackets <...>.

For example, this makes it possible to change a server address without making the Web addresses entered in the roles invalid.

In the accompanying IMG activity, a row is created with the key SERVERNAME and the value http://www.my-server.com, for example.

In this example, the Web address /home.htm is interpreted as http://www.my-server.com/home.htm when you run it it in the browser.
