These tables describe all available excise duty groups which can be selected during the setup of a dutiable material.

The ED group is defined by a 2-digit alphanumeric code and is assigned a Unit of Measure group. A single Unit of Measure group can be assigned to multiple excise duty groups to allow various tax statuses to be applied.

The use of an excise duty group allows a change in the rate of excise duty to affect a number of materials without individual maintenance.

The UoMG is assigned to an ED group as the tax has to be paid on the material measured in, for example, L15.

You must define the unit of measure group and assign units of measure to the groups in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing HPM -> Oil- and Gas-Specific Units of Measure and Additional Stockkeeping Units -> Define additional stockkeeping units of measure.

There are no standard settings for this table because the entries are dependent on local authority regulations.

Use a group for each set of materials which are subject to the same rates of excise duty.
