These tables describe the excise duty tax status of a location or a material. The purpose of this is to determine whether a claim, a liability or neither will occur during the ED movement.

The excise duty tax status is assigned to a material valuation record (accounting view) during the creation of a material.

A 2-digit alphanumeric code is used, which is then indicated as either taxed or untaxed and assigned a default excise duty tax status key for a new batch.

Three entries are required as shown above. Physical inventory is given its own entry to enable it to be used as a constant reference for the excise duty status of physical inventory in the country/region concerned.

In table OIH03 the three entries can be taken in any combination to cover the range of from/to movements of inventory. You maintain table OIH03 in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing TDP -> Global Settings -> Parameter Assignments -> Maintain excise duty/tax status/account determination.
