Here you assign a handling type to an excise duty grouping code. The grouping code combines a company code, plant, storage location and valuation type.

By assigning a handling type to an excise duty grouping code, you link a valuation type (defined in the grouping code) to a handling type. This link:

  • Ensures that only one handling type is defaulted for the grouping code.
  • Is used to determine a unique excise duty status (taxed or untaxed) for a material when a goods movement occurs in the purchasing cycle.

You can define excise duty grouping codes in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing:

  • TDP → Global Settings → Parameter Definitions → Define excise duty grouping code
