In this table you create compatibility indicators for vehicles and customers.

The vehicle / customer compatibilty indicators are used to ensure that the vehicle assigned to deliver a shipment is compatible with the customer of the shipment.

Once vehicle and customer compatibility groups and indicators have been created, the indicators are assigned to the groups. This enables compatibility checking during scheduling.

The system checks that the compatibility group assigned to a vehicle contains all of the indicators within the compatibility group assigned to the customer.

This is only done if the shipment type indicates that compatibility checking is to take place. You define bulk shipment types in table TOIGS in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing TD (Transportation and Distribution) → TD Bulk Shipment → Define Bulk Shipment Type.

A particular customer may require a vehicle with an extra long hose, which is painted in company colors, so the customer is assigned the group with the indicators "company colors" and "long hose". The system checks that the group assigned to the vehicle has also been assigned the indicators "company colors" and "long hose". If the vehicle indicators don't match the customer indicators, the vehicle specified can't be assigned to the customer.

Vehicle/customer compatibility indicators should be created that most closely resemble the attributes used by your company to ensure vehicles are compatible with the customer of the shipment they are assigned to.

You can assign as many indicators to the vehicle group as you require. The compatibility check will only fail should the indicator(s) assigned to the customer group not be among those assigned to the vehicle group.

Define groups and assign indicators

  • You define vehicle compatibility groups and assign indicators to them in table TOIGBV by choosing SAP menu → Logistics → Sales and Distribution → Bulk Transportation → Master Data → Compatibilities → Group Definiton → Maintain Vehicle Goup.
  • You define customer compatibility groups and assign indicators to them in table TOIGBC by choosing SAP menu → Logistics → Sales and Distribution → Bulk Transportation → Master Data → Compatibilities → Group Definiton → Maintain Customer Group.

Assign groups to each vehicle / customer

  • Then you assign vehicle compatibility groups to each vehicle in table OIGV by choosing SAP menu → Logistics → Sales and Distribution → Bulk Transportation → Master Data → Vehicle → Change.
  • Then you assign customer compatibility groups to each customer in table RF02D by choosing SAP menu → Logistics → Sales and Distribution → Master Data → Business Partner → Customer → Change ( View: Shipping).
