SAP E-Book

In this step, you define access sequences.

The access sequence is a search strategy which the SAP System uses to search for valid output condition records.

To define an access sequence, make the following settings:

  • Access sequence
Alphanumeric key with up to 4 characters which identifies an access sequence.
  • Description
    Text describing the output condition.
  • Detail data (more information on other possible customizing options can be found using the field help):
  • Access number
Sequential number of the access within the access sequence.
  • Table
Condition table which contains the key fields of the output condition records.
  • To create a new access sequence, copy a similar access sequence in the system and make the necessary changes.
  • If you define your own access sequences, the key should start with the letter Y or Z as SAP reserves these name conventions in the standard SAP System.
  1. Check to what extent you can use the access sequences contained in the standard SAP System, and to what extent you must change them.
  2. Define and activate access sequences for all SD documents, then generate them in Utilities.
