SAP E-Book

Maintain and create global valuation types, and the allocation of valuation types to valuation categories on a global level.

In this step, global maintenance means that all adjustments you made here are independent of any specific valuation area.

You can maintain the attributes of global categories and global types. In addition, you can create new global valuation types and allocate these types to the corresponding global categories.

Allocating a new global valuation type to a global valuation category updates all valuation areas, which have been assigned to the category. Note that local attribute modifications have no impact on global settings.

Note

The setting for the Split Valuationfunction is divided into 2 parts. To be able to use the full scope of the Split Valuation function, you have to complete 2 configuration steps in the correct sequence:

  • Configuration Step 1: Activate Split Valuation for Global Data
  • Configuration Step 2: Activate Split Valuation for Valuation Area

To complete the configuration for Split Valuation, you have to successfully execute both configuration steps.

Note

With the configuration step Activate Split Valuation for Valuation Area, you can then allocate the valid valuation categories to the valuation areas. This way, all category-related valuation types maintained in the configuration step Activate Split Valuation for Global Dataare created locally, that is, for the corresponding valuation area. The various application transactions only reference the local valuation data.

In the standard SAP system, the following global valuation categories are pre-defined:

  • B - Valuation Category "In-house Production / External Procurement"
  • H - Valuation Category "Origin"
  • Q - Valuation Category "Quality"
  • G - Valuation Category "G"
  • A - Valuation Category "A"
  • D - Valuation Category "D"
  • M - Valuation Category "Material Condition"
  • J - Valuation Category "Joint Venture"
  • X - Valuation Category "Automatic valuation (only for batch)"

Attention

  • Note that the valuation categories are predefined by SAP and cannot be changed.
  • Note that you cannot delete a valuation type that has once been created.

To make the global basic settings for the Split Valuationfunction, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on Global Valuation Typesand choose New Entries.
  2. Enter a name for the new valuation type. Note, that the name must be based on the SAP naming conventions.
  3. Choose Save.
  4. Assign an account reference to the new valuation type. To do this, use the value help of the AReffield.
Note that this step is important for assigning the valuation classes.
