In this IMG activity, you can adapt a preconfigured workflow that is executed whenever a functional location or a piece of equipment is deactivated or deleted.

With this IMG activity, SAP provides the following preconfigured workflow settings:

  • The triggering events are the deactivation or deletion of a piece of equipment or a functional location.
  • These events are assigned to process types that consolidate several activities to be performed in a specific sequence of steps.
  • During the workflow maintenance plans and items, maintenance orders, and maintenance notifications can be changed.
  • The corresponding work items are either executed automatically in the background or in the dialog by the agents responsible.

You can enhance and adapt the preconfigured workflow settings:

  • In the Global Properties step, you can determine if and when the responsible agents are notified about a workflow having started and if they can actively interfere and stop workflows that run in parallel for the same source object.
  • You can specify whether activities performed for the target object types are executed in parallel or in parallel and asynchronously.
  • You can decide whether you want activities that are processed for the target objects to be executed automatically or only in dialog mode. Furthermore you can change the dialog task that the system uses if the task is exclusively run in the dialog or if an error occurs during the automated process. You can also add new activities and specify the activity details.
  • You can activate or deactivate individual steps of the process types and determine that specific steps are skipped whenever the workflow is executed.
  • You can define new process types and assign activities that have to be performed in a specific step sequence.
  • You can decide whether or not the system executes specific process types as soon as the triggering event occurs.
