Valuation variants enable you to define which prices are selected to value materials, internal activities, subcontracting, and external processing, and which costing sheets are used to calculate overhead.
Configuration Options
Define the following settings for valuation variants:
- Materials
- Define a strategy sequence of prices for valuing materials.
- If you selected the Price from Purchasing Info Recordstrategy, you also need to define a substrategy sequence for purchasing info record valuation.
- Internal Activities
- Define a strategy sequence of prices for valuing internal activities.
- Subcontracting
- Define a strategy sequence of prices for valuing subcontracting and select a quota arrangement.
- External Processing
- Define a strategy sequence of prices for valuing external processing.
- Overhead Costs
- Enter the relevant overhead costing sheets for overhead calculation. You can optionally choose to apply overhead to subcontracted materials.
Strategy Sequence
You can enter one or more price strategies in the strategy sequence. If you enter multiple strategies, the first available price in the sequence is used in valuation.
Example:
You entered the following strategy sequence for material valuation:
Standard Price
Price from Purchasing Info Record
Price from Last Valid Alternative Valuation Run
If the material has a standard price, this price is used to value the material.
If no standard price is found, the price from the purchasing info record is used if it exists.
If no price is found in the purchasing info record, the price from the last valid alternative valuation run is used.
