In this Customizing activity, you can restrict the number of duplicates in the SAP ERP back-end system when you distribute supplier master data from the buy side of SAP Supplier Lifecycle Management to the SAP ERP back-end system.

During this process, a duplicate check is performed. If duplicate vendors have been found, mappings are created in the buy-side system. However, a high number of duplicates may indicate poor data quality. For this reason, you can decide to accept only a certain number of duplicates. If the number of duplicates is higher than the number you have entered in this Customizing activity, the duplicate check result is discarded and neither supplier mappings are created in the buy-side system, nor new vendors in the SAP ERP back-end system. In this case, you can manually change the vendor master records to solve the issue.

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the maximum number of duplicates allowed.
  3. Save your entries.

Note:

If you create an entry containing the value '0000', neither duplicates are uploaded nor mappings are created.

If you do not create an entry, no restrictions regarding duplicates apply.

You are distributing a supplier from the buy-side system to the SAP ERP back-end system and the duplicate check lists a large number of duplicates in the SAP ERP back-end system. This reason for this is that vendors may have been created for test purposes in the SAP ERP back-end system but have not been deleted. Consequently, the distribution of this supplier is interrupted if the system has detected a number of duplicate entries that is higher than the number you have entered. You can then check and change the vendor master data before resuming the distribution.
