SOLMAN_ACTIVATE_KEY - Activate Solution Manager Enhancements

This activity activates components of SAP Solution Manager enhancements.

Technically, the components are packages which based on the standard SAPSolution Manager, independently from each other, i.e. usually without interdependencies.

Activation makes only technical settings for the component functionality of the SAP Solution Manager enhancements.

Note: You cannot deactivate an active SAP Solution Manager component enhancement package, because deactivating previously used production functionality can lead to data inconsistencies. Enhancements to these structures are also retained.

You can activate enhancements for the following independent products:

  • SAP Quality Center by HP
  • SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood
  • SAP Productivity Pak by RWD

The enhancements are per product, so, for example, if you want to use QC by HP, only activate the enhancement for the SAP Solution Manager Adaptor for SAP QC by HP.

You have downloaded the add-on for the product:

  • SAP Solution Manager Adaptor for SAP Quality Center by HP (software component: ST-QCA)
  • SAP Productivity Pak by RWD (software component: ST-SPA)

You are authorized (authorization object): S_SWITCH.

See SAP note 588364 before activation.

  1. Open the folder ENTERPRISE_EXTENSIONS.
  2. Choose the components which you want to activate, in the table.
  3. Change the status to On.
  4. Activate.
  5. Save your changes.
When you save, extensions are made automatically to the following IMG structures, per activated component:
  • SAP Solution Manager Adaptor for SAP Quality Center by HP Bundle ID: SM_QC_AD)

Structure: Third Party Integration -> SAP Quality Center by HP
  • SAP Productivity Pak by RWD (Bundle ID: SM_SSP)

If you use the Solution Manager Work Center, you can activate the Solution Manager enhancements in the System Landscape Management work center, as follows:

Assign work center

  1. Assign the role SAP_SMWORK_LANDSCAPE_MAN to your user, in the System Landscape Management work center.
  2. Assign the role SAP_SMWORK_BASIC with values, and generate the profile.
  3. Assign system maintenance authorization (at least SAP_SMSY_ALL with function group SFW_API_REMOTE in authorization object S_RFC) and the authorization object S_SWITCH.

Activate enhancements

  1. Call the work center.
  2. Choose Switch Framework Cockpit in Links.
  3. Select the row with the ID of your Solution Manager system.
  4. Choose Switch Framework Data and Read.
The system shows all possible business functions.
  1. Select the row with the business function which you want to activate.
  2. Choose Check, before you activate.
  3. Activate.
