SAPconnect handles all workflow notifications that are sent automatically due to an alert in Business Process Monitoring.

  • For use in Business Process Monitoring the SAPconnect must be setup:
  • in client 000 bis ST-SER 700_2006_1.

  • in the production client from ST-SER 700_2006_2

  • Every user who wants to use the auto-reaction-methods must have a defined internet mail address in his user profile. This address is for receiving e-mails and is also used as the sender's address. This could be any e-mail address in the WWW, depending on the settings for the mail server (for example: Only e-mail addresses that are known within the specified mail server are allowed).
  1. Logon to the Solution Manager system in the required client.
  2. Choose transaction SAPconnect: Administration(SCOT).
  3. Choose View-> System status.
  4. Choose Settings-> Default Domain.
  5. Specify your default domain and confirm. For example, mydomain.com.
  6. In the Administration screen, double-click the SMTP node.
  7. Maintain general information:
    1. We recommend to set the 'maximum waiting time for repeat send attempt procedure' to 1 minute.
    2. Check the box "node in use".
  8. Maintain SMTP Connection Data:
    1. Specify the mail host for SMTP. For example, mail.mydomain.com.
    2. Specify a mail port. The default port is 25.
    3. Select a code page, for example 1100 SAP internal, like ISO 8859-1.
  9. Maintain supported address types:
    1. Choose Set (for "Internet").
    2. Enter an asterisk (*) for address space.
  10. Choose Continue.

Schedule the periodic background job in SAPconnect

  1. Call transaction SCOT.
  2. Choose View - Jobs.
The SAPconnect Job Administration screen is displayed.
  1. Choose Job - Create.
A dialog box is displayed.
  1. Specify a job name.
  2. Confirm.
  3. In the next window, select the variant SAP&CONNECTALL.
  4. Choose Schedule.
  5. Choose Schedule Periodically.
A dialog box is displayed.
  1. Specify a time period, for example, 10 minutes.
  2. Choose Create.
