SOLMAN_BW_TESTMAN - Assign BW Extraction Authorization

You want to create BW reports for the Test Workbench. You must give the user SMD_(BI)_RFC additional authorization, to extract BW data. This authorization is in the following roles:

  • SAP_SM_BI_DISP
  • SAP_BI_TWB

You have completed the basic configuration. Your production BW client contains the user SMD_(BI)_RFC, according to your BW set-up:

  • SMD_RFC (standard scenario - production BW client is the production SAP Solution Manager client)
  • SMD_BI_RFC (remote scenario - BW is another SAP Solution Manager client or BW system)

The system assigns the following roles to the user SMD_(BI)_RFC, during the basic configuration:

  • SAP_BI_E2E (general BW authorization)
  • SAP_SOLMANDIAG_E2E (authorization for Root Cause Analysis data extraction)
  1. Choose the role SAP_SM_BI_DISP.
  2. Copy the role into your namespace.
  3. Instantiate the role, and generate the profile.
  4. Assign SMD_(BI)_RFC to the user, in the Users tab.
  5. Do the same for the role SAP_BI_TWB.
