To establish whether a system is active and available within a system landscape, the availability monitoring of the CCMS uses the agent CCMSPING. This is a stand-alone program, which runs outside of an SAP system. You require this for:
- Availability analysis in system monitoring (Work Center System Monitoring: Alert Overview and Downtime Planner)
- The Central Performance History for Service Level Reporting
- Availability values in IT Performance Reporting
