In this section, you find information about which configuration steps are necessary to enter an ABAP system (or the AS ABAP of a double-stack system) as a monitored system in the central monitoring system (CEN).

You have performed the following steps in the ABAP system that you want to monitor centrally (see Configuration of Monitored ABAP System):

  • Created CSMREG user
  • Activated background dispatching
  1. In the CEN, call the transaction RZ21.
  2. Choose Technical infrastructure → Configure Central System → Create remote monitoring entry.
  3. In Component Type to Be Monitored, choose the entry ABAP.
  4. Enter the following system and connection data for each ABAP system to be monitored:
  • System ID

  • Message Server host

  • Logon Group; the default setting is the group SPACE, which always exists

  • Password for CSMREG on the monitored system

  1. Choose Continue (Enter).
  2. Execute the following steps:

ABAP System to Release SAP NetWeaver 7.0

  1. If you want to monitor an ABAP system up to Release SAP NetWeaver 7.0, execute the following steps:
    1. In the menu, choose Configuration → Expert Mode , then in the Tasks to Be Executed group box, choose the entry Create Only RFC Connection to System.
    2. Choose Continue (Enter).
    3. If you want to monitor an ABAP system up to Release SAP NetWeaver 7.0, you must also register the agent SAPCCM4X in the CEN (see Register Agent SAPCCM4X for Monitored Systems (to SAP NetWeaver 7.0)).

ABAP System as of Release SAP NetWeaver 7.1

  1. If you want to monitor an ABAP system as of Release SAP NetWeaver 7.1, execute the following steps:
    1. In the Operating System User on the Host of the Monitored System group box, enter the password of an administration user at operating-system level. This is the user adm.
You require this authentification because the Web Service call to register a component in the CEN is protected.
  1. In the CSMREG User of the Central System group box, enter the password for the CSMREG user.
  • Save your entries.
