This IMG activity creates an alias for the HTTP service "content server" to display documents without needing to log on separately for each call of a document.

A content server allows HTTP access for repositories on a SAP Web Application Server. The content server is any server that manages content. In the Solution Manager, it is used for document management. A content server may be a database, a file server, an SAP system, or an external archive.

  1. Choose Hierachy Type → Execute.
  2. Choose External Aliases.
  3. Choose default_host.
  4. Choose External Alias -> External Alias Wizard.
  5. Run the wizard and enter the required data:
  • External Alias: /sap/bc/contentserver

  • Description: e.g. ContentServer Alias

  • Service target element: default_host -> sap-> bc-> contentserver

The wizard has created the external alias.
  1. Choose your external alias in the hierarchy tree.
  2. Specify the user for http access that you created, e.g."CONTENTSERV".
  3. Enter a password.
The password must be the same as for the user for http access.
  1. Save your changes.
You may need to choose Cancel to return to the main External Alias screen.
