Data for the EWA is collected centrally in the Diagnostics for Garbage Collection Analysis (EWA GCA Task) and Wily Introscope (EWA ISData Task).

The only exception to central EWA data collection is in the portal "Activity Reporting", which is performed in the portal. Portal Activity Reporting data is collected when the data provider makes a query.

Garbage Collection Analysis (EWA GCA task)

This task queries the standard server outputs of the monitored J2EE server, and analyzes the behavior of the Garbage Collection

  1. Go to zu Configuration -> Scheduler -> EWA GCA Task. (http://: /smd _ Diagnostics Administration _ ManagedSystems _ Scheduler), in Diagnostics
  2. Garbage Collection Analysis should be activated for each host which is required for EWA Reporting. This task requires no further configuration, and should be scheduled to run hourly.
    1. Activate the relevant host for each task.
    2. Set the parameter "Custom Frequency" to 60 and the number of attempts to 1 for each host.
    3. Save.
